On the Road, Day One: Farthest West

Okay, this post, like most posts this week inevitably, is heavy on pictures and light on words.

It was a sad day, moving out of the Can. Well, not that sad. We're really excited to get home. But it was melancholy for sure. Everyone that works there is so nice, and the facility itself was excellent. It treated us well. Gonna miss you, Can.

After a long drive through the dessert, we ended up at that great body of water, the Pacific Ocean. Santa Monica, California.

The town was PACKED. Crowds were everywhere. Traffic was bumper-to-bumper. Totally worth it. What a view.

The Pier itself was interesting. Reminded me a lot of Rocket Power.

Run, Forrest!

The ocean was just as full of seaweed and jellyfish as the Jersey Shore, don't worry.

My beauty.

This is the farthest west I'll ever be in my life.

We took a nice walk on the beach.

The ferris wheel was a must.

We're chilling in Los Angeles now, after beating the traffic again while heading a bit east. The city kind of sucks. Our hotel is in a bad neighborhood, so we drove downtown. It was... kind of bizarre. We had a nice in maybe the only sandwich shop open, it seemed like. The whole city was dead. Everything was closed. I know it was a Sunday night, but still. Maybe we're just too used to Vegas and everything looks dead in comparison.

Just hanging out now, waiting for Breaking Bad and resting up. Hollywood and Dodgers Stadium for Blanton's Perfect Game today.
